Literature Text

Like tendrils weaving in and out of my soul,

Piercing, threading, ever tightening its toll.

Pulling together parts of us I wish to never see,

Parts of you intertwined with parts of me.

In desperation I try to pull away,

Only to be pulled back into the fray.

The needle pierces my heart, rips it wide,

While Blood stained fingers stitch side to side.

And with my last breath I fade into the night,

For what's left of me is naught but fright.

The remnants of what I used to be then,

Shrouded by the tailor of words when:

You had broken my heart - again and again.

On my way home last night after dinner I found myself turning inwards and had to get lost in my music.  A friend of mine witnessed these words as I typed them in the chat window harrowed by the feelings found within the poem.  I had been driving for seven hours trying to get home.  Tired.  Exhausted.  Frustrated.  Beaten and battered at all that's been going on with my life, my health, and my soul.  Hope you enjoy it as much as she did.
